Where Gig Harbor's Maritime Legacy Meets Award-winning Service, Vibrant Community, and Waterfront Adventure.

Welcome!

What began as a small fishing boat building shop grew into one of Puget Sound's most respected marine operations. Originally founded as the Skansie Brother Ship Building Company, our boatyard helped shape Washington's maritime history - including building the state's very first ferries. More than a century later, we're proud to continue that legacy by serving boaters, visitors, and our waterfront community with the same commitment to craftsmanship and care.

We are so glad you're here!

Why Gig Harbor Marina?

We’re more than a marina.

Located just inside the harbor entrance, Gig Harbor Marina and Boatyard combines full service marine care with the charm of the Pacific Northwest waterfront lifestyle. Whether you’re docking for the season, hauling out for repairs, staying for the weekend, or gathering with friends, this is where harbor life happens.

This is the best boatyard I’ve been to in the Pacific Northwest. They were able to fit me in when I had an emergency while on a cruise in 2025 and took care of my problem promptly allowing me to finish my trip. Because of such a great experience I brought my boat back to them in 2026 when I had a new problem. I had another great experience. I had a mysterious slow leak, and they spent the time identifying where it was coming from while, all the time, keeping me updated on their progress. All of the staff were friendly and competent as well as being open about what was going on and keeping me informed. I highly recommend this boatyard.

We are a part of an event called Salish 100. Gig Harbor Marina accommodated us on short notice and it worked out quite well. We had access to showers, clean bathroom, and clean water. Worth the price. 👍

Was a great stop over on our way to the South Sound. Clean facilities and good communication on the slip assignment. Showers did not require quarters. Restroom was kept clean. Marina is close to lots of restaurants.

I came as part of the Salish 100 rally, so about 20 boats all arrived at once. The staff got us all in slips graciously. The piers were quiet at night, no creaking as the tide went in and out. The marina was quiet as well. Bathrooms were clean and no quarters needed for shower. They were a bit hard to find so be sure to get directions when you check in. Gig Harbor is a fun town as well. I do recommend this marina.

I have had my boat pulled many times by Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard, and each time they go above-and-beyond not only to schedule a date given how busy they are, but also to provide top-notch service while it's there. Patrick and his team are committed to providing a great experience for their customers, to advise them of facts, to make sure the job gets done well, and to make sure the job gets done in a timely manner. They have well established connections with multiple sub contractors in the area, as well, so they are able to connect you with the right person if they don't provide a particular service. Highly recommend!

The day before Labor Day, at the beginning of a three-week cruise, our diesel auxiliary began overheating. I would have changed the impeller, but the engine is reversed to make more room in the cabin. I simply could not reach it. On Labor Day all boatyards were closed, but Gig Harbor Marine answered my call and scheduled an appointment for the next day. On that day, two technicians came to the boat, changed the impeller (two men - two hours) and noticed that the raw water hose to the pump was about to break. They replaced that, as well. They briefed me on all they did, advised me about things to watch out for in the future, were cordial, left no greasy smudges, and let me know that if there was any further problem, the fix would be free.

Excellent service, very friendly office staff, and the engine has worked fine ever since. Highly recommended.

We needed some parts after our port transmission stopped working, and pulled into gig harbor with our fingers crossed that someone would be able to help us out. When walking up to Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard, Patrick and Michael both teamed up with us to find the part and guided us through the instillation process. We got everything put back together and we're under-way in the same day!! Very highly recommended for their customer service and knowledgeable staff - we will definitely be back in the future!!

We couldn't imagine a better place to be in the Puget Sound!!  The staff and crew of Gig Harbor Marina are always fantastic to work with and treat us like family.  Our 1976 36' Grand Banks Classic has a great life and home there.

I wanted to take a minute to describe the excellent experience that I recently had with GHMB. My boat was hauled out for bottom paint, a few new thru-hulls, zincs, etc. The work was top-notch, and the yard manager Patrick was excellent at keeping me in the loop. Kevin not only installed the two new thru-hulls that I requested, but also found one more that was way past its prime and on the verge of failing. He personally went aboard my boat with me to explain all the work that he did. He did a great job! Lawrence was excellent at diagnosing the source of the electrical circuit failure that affected my bilge pumps and replacing the necessary components to get things back in working order. He is excellent! In talking with the yard manager (Patrick) I learned that he is a Navy veteran of over 20 years, and has been around / worked on boats all of his life. I could definitely tell by his interactions with both employees and customers that his leadership is crucial to the success of GHMB. Lastly, I discovered a small mistake that had been made while work was performed (hey, stuff happens). Patrick and crew went out of their way to make sure that it was rectified and I was a perfectly happy customer. I feel like Patrick & crew treated my boat as if it were their own, and me like a friend.

Thank you to the whole team. You all provided great customer service and high quality work on our Carver. You honored your timeline, completed each project and returned the boat clean, reassembled and better than ever! The help, patience and care you offered us is much appreciated. We will be customers for life! Thanks again!!

We have been very satisfied with the GHBY. Patrick is an excellent manager and keeps you very well informed of what you are facing and how it will be resolved. The prices are reasonable and all the staff are very professional and knowledgeable. A plus is that you can stay on your boat while work is being done (unless it is hauled, of course) and enjoy the beauty and activities of the harbor. The office staff is very friendly and professional. We are from Olympia and feel it is worth it to cruise up to GHBY for work on our boat. We trust GHBY.

We needed prop work done. We called and we had an appt within a few days. Props were sent off for repair and back on within 4 days of arriving. Thank-you Mark and David for working overtime to get us back in the water to enjoy the July 4 weekend. They saved our summer. The staff from office to yard workers, including management were nice, friendly and professional. We consider them friends. Its nice to have boatyard we can depend on.

I had the pleasure of staying aboard one of Gig Harbor Marina and Boat Yard’s Yachts, The “Suite Dreams” for the month of August. It was one of the best vacations I’ve ever taken. From the service provided by Cheryl H (The hospitality manager/ Girl Friday) , to so many of the staff at the boat yard, to include Nicco and Mike. Niko was always there with a helping hand when unloading carts or shuffling around paddleboard‘s. He did it with a smile and no expectation. They all couldn’t have been nicer. I plan to rent the boat again next summer This is truly a one-of-a-kind venue that can only be described as magical.

I wouldn’t take my boat anywhere else. They are fantastic to work with. Patrick, Justin, Mia… the whole crew are exceptional. I feel lucky to have them nearby.

Yet another FANTASTIC experience at GHM&B!!!! From the super friendly and very accommodating admin staff, to the extremely well run and oversight by Mgr. Patrick, to the ALWAYS EXEMPLARY customer service from the master of the lift, Mark, and the rest of the yard crew, I couldn't be more pleased with this last haul-out! This boatyard always exceeds our expectations and have never been anything short of the epitome of professionals from the time of making the appointment to the time they launch the boat back into the water! Keep up the great work GHM&B, your attention to detail and stellar customer service should be the standard for other boatyards! THANK YOU!!!

As new owners of an older boat we had several issues that needed attention. Patrick and his entire team, most notably Kevin and Mike, are generous with their extensive knowledge and experience. Their willingness with explanations and advisements were deeply appreciated. They have earned our confidence and will always be our first and only reference for keeping Fellowship in good working order.
