Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard Wraps Up Another Successful Boat Show

The Seattle Boat Show finished its nine-day raft-up in the Emerald City on Feb. 2, and it was another successful run for Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard as we showcased the many reasons to make the downtown waterfront your Gig Harbor destination.

The boatyard was part of a greater Gig Harbor tourism and recreation booth at this year’s show at CenturyLink Event Center Jan. 25 through Feb. 2. Once again, we enjoyed meeting a lot of folks and sharing the many ways the boatyard is at the center of all good things happening on the Gig Harbor waterfront.

Chance Busey of Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard records a wrap-up podcast on the final day of the Seattle Boat Show.

“The boat show was a huge success,” declared boatyard managing member Ron Roark on Monday morning after the annual boating extravaganza. He and the rest of our crew were on hand throughout the exposition, ready with information, fun freebies, brochures and videos on the yard’s many service and hospitality offerings.

Second Wave @ the Boatyard Marine Repair & Consignment

The boatyard crew especially enjoyed spreading the word to the show’s wide boating audience about the new Second Wave @ the Boatyard, which opened in Gig Harbor last June. The marine repair and consignment store is the reincarnation of the original Second Wave store of gently-used marine equipment that operated for many years on Lake Union.

Gary Ford, manager of the new Second Wave, sat down at the boat show with videographer Chance Busey, assistant marketing director at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard, to talk about the marine repair and consignment store.

“We’ve seen a lot of people come by the booth,” he tells Busey in the above video shot on the final day of the Seattle Boat Show. “The excitement from customers is outstanding. We really have everything from A to Z — from anchors to zincs and everything else in between.”
