Holiday Season Festivities Continue @ The Club After Christmas Tree Lighting
Join the festivities to kick off the holiday season in the harbor this Saturday, Dec. 1. The evening of fun on the Gig Harbor waterfront starts with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Santa’s arrival in Skansie Brothers Park. Then, it continues next door at The Club @ the Boatyard with dancing and live music with Ignite.
The Christmas tree lighting event, brought to us by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance, will begin at 5 p.m. with holiday music performed by Spectrum Choral Academy’s Youth and Children’s Chorus.
Free hot chocolate, cider and cookies will be provided inside the Skansie Net Shed thanks to the Waterfront Alliance. Also, the Tacoma Rainiers’ mascot, Rhubarb the Reindeer, will be on hand to entertain families.
At 5:30 Santa will arrive on the Gig Harbor Fire Department ladder truck and he and Gig Harbor Mayor Kit Kuhn will light the tree. Santa will be available at the park following the tree lighting to meet with children and listen to their holiday wishes.
Then, it’s Time to ‘Ignite’ @ The Club!
After the Christmas tree lighting event in the park, walk over to The Club @ the Boatyard and keep the festivities going. Five-piece band Ignite, the Northwest’s premier classic rock cover band, will be playing such artists as Heart, Journey, Tom Petty, the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and many more — plus, one country song, according to their Facebook page.
A donation of $20 is suggested and will help make the holiday season merry & bright for many families at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
So, come get in the holiday spirit of festivity and giving at this special Club Members Event. A suggested donation of $20 will go toward JBLM’s Santa’s Castle, which provides gifts to our local military families experiencing financial hardship.
Remember, everyone is a Club member for just a dollar at the door, so mark your calendar now for this enjoyable night.
