Bagpipers in the Harbor

If you think you’ve been hearing bagpipe music in the harbor on Friday evenings, you’re right.  Heritage Distilling Company in Gig Harbor has arranged for pipers from the Tacoma Scots Pipe Band to perform every Friday evening through Sept. 4.  Gig Harbor Yacht Club members are volunteering their boats for the musical circuit of the harbor, beginning at 5:30 p.m. when they pick up the bagpiper at Maritime Pier and lasting until 6:30.

The yacht club is excited to partner with Heritage Distilling and the Tacoma Scots to bring unique entertainment to the Gig Harbor waterfront, says Commodore Bobbie Higgins. “It is such a fun and different opportunity to have members of the Scots Pipe band aboard a GHYC member’s boat playing music for the community while circling the waterfront.”

Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is at the heart of it all in downtown, so come on down to the harbor on a Friday evening. Sample a variety of bold, rich natural flavors of hand-crafted spirits at Heritage Distilling just across Harborview Drive from the marina.  Then wander over to the waterfront to catch the soulful serenade of bagpipe music drifting across the water.
