Seattle Boat Show Opening Weekend Review: ‘Awesome’
Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard’s Assistant Marketing Director Chance Busey took the first watch in covering the Seattle Boat Show on opening weekend, Jan. 26-28. It was easy duty for this avid boater, who shares his observations and videos below:
Chance’s Notes & Video Blogs:
— The Seattle Boat Show 2018 is awesome and has something for everybody! Kids can enjoy the Aqua Zone, Charlie the Sheriff Boat, and the domino artist, who is working on a 25,000-piece display that will be toppled on the last day of the show, Feb. 3.
— Bell Harbor is a new addition to the Boats Afloat portion and it does not disappoint! Lots of cool things, including Point Ruston, a Beneteau catamaran, and a 100-foot Ocean Alexander. Opening weekend also had free grilled cheese sandwiches from Seattle Sourdough Baking Company, which were awesome!
— South Lake Union has many more shiny things to look at, including Jeanneaus and an Ocean Alexander 90. I ran into a handful of people that I knew, which made the experience even better.
— The Chowder Chomp cook-off was amazing as well! My top three chowders were Doc’s Marina Grill, Pike Place Chowder and Seattle Fish Company.
— Go out and have fun checking out boats — there is a ton to see!
