Three Boats Are Up For Auction @ Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard
Now there’s one more tantalizing reason to come down to the Gig Harbor waterfront on Saturday, Feb. 10. Not only is that Winter Sip & Stroll day for sampling fantastic wines and tasty bites along the harbor, but it is also boat auction day at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard.
Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is putting three boats up for auction in the yard and it’s a golden opportunity to stroll down for a great deal on a boat.
Feb. 10: Boat Auction at 11 a.m. ~ Winter Sip & Stroll from 1-5 p.m.
The auction at the boatyard will begin at 11 a.m., ahead of Sip & Stroll, and will take place on the side of the yard next to the Russell building. It will be a no-reserve or absolute auction in which the boats will be sold to the highest bidder regardless of price.
After the boat auction stroll over to The Club @ the Boatyard and enjoy sips of wine and tantalizing bites courtesy of the Trolley @ the Boatyard. The Club is one of 17 stroll stops along the harbor for the third annual Winter Sip & Stroll organized by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance.

1981 Tiara 31 Open Hardtop:
A rare hardtop model Tiara Open 31. The Tiara 31 is an iconic sea boat. With twin engines producing 700 horsepower and a deep Vee hull this boat will take you out for cocktails with your wife and friends or 50 miles offshore to find the big tuna with your buddies! The hardtop makes this an excellent all-around Northwest boat.
The boat is in the late stages of a major refit. Most of the hard work has been done but there’s a little more to do. That’s where you come in. The engines run but need some finishing touches to be sea ready. There is Permateek flooring for the cockpit to install. And there are a handful of other items to attend to. Our loss is your gain. There’s plenty of time to finish the boat before the summer boating season!
Much updating has been done to this boat:
The cabin has been completely and beautifully updated. The running gear was serviced or replaced, including one new prop and shaft and new cutlass bearings. The stuffing boxes have been serviced. New trim tabs, pump and control are installed. Bilge pumps replaced. Existing wiring removed, repaired or upgraded. Unused through hull transducers removed and holes fiberglassed.
Replaced deteriorated plastic thru hull fittings. Helm console rewired. Cockpit deck re-cored where there had been rot, re-glassed and faired for Permateek overlay (not installed). Cockpit hatches have Permateek installed. Cockpit teak trim repaired. Anchor windlass, roller and controls installed. Anchor hatch rebuilt with Permateek overlay. Much new lighting. Teak cover boxes fabricated and installed for cockpit overhead and dash. Over $90,000 has been spent!!

1979 Mainship 34 Sedan
The Mainship 34 is a handsome, sea kindly and comfortable cruising boat. With an economical Perkins 6.354, 120 horsepower diesel she will take you far on very little fuel. There is a large V-berth forward, spacious galley and enclosed head with separate shower midships, and a spacious salon aft. The salon is wide open and ready for whatever furnishings fit your needs. The cockpit is large and open and the flying bridge is accessed by a centerline ladder.
Miss Texas needs some lovin.’ Her owner abandoned her (and the invoice) and now she’s available at auction. She has new bottom paint. The exhaust system, fuel fill hoses, fuel tank vents and fuel lines have been completely replaced and the engine was run while on the hard. The hull has had gelcoat blemishes repaired and the entire hull buffed. New transom name graphics were installed. The vessel was originally shipped from Texas to Gig Harbor. The mast, ladder and flying bridge have been re-installed but the wiring and controls need to be connected.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a great Northwest cruising trawler yacht with a little sweat equity.

1991 Novurania 21’ SOLAS FRB (Fast Rescue Boat)
Originally a cruise ship rescue training vessel, this inflatable RIB was used by a maritime training facility. It has a Perkins Sabre M215C 6-cylinder 210 horsepower diesel coupled to a water jet drive. The center console has a lifting hook for hoisting aboard ship and a roll cage that mounts an inflatable righting bag. The fiberglass hull is heavily built with an inflatable collar. The entire vessel is SOLAS orange. The hull, collar and drive are in good condition. The condition of the engine is unknown. There is disconnected wiring at the console and engine and there is some corrosion.
This boat would be an excellent candidate for conversion to outboard power if one didn’t want to mess with repairing the diesel. There is an included galvanized double axel trailer in good condition.
