Boaters, Plan on Being Part of the Harbor Lighted Boat Parade
The Gig Harbor Yacht Club is announcing its annual Lighted Boat Parade in the harbor, set for 5 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2019. All area boaters are welcome to participate in this exciting Christmas season tradition, says yacht club boat parade organizer John Sasser. The only requirements are a well-lit boat and sense of holiday spirit.
“The Lighted Boat Parade is just a lot of fun,” he said in an email announcing registration is on now. “First, with all the LED options now available, the only limit on decorating your boat is your imagination. Then, the actual parade is a real thrill. You are out there on the water, with a fleet of other boats all lit up, and the houses and buildings along the water are all decorated with lights.”
The annual parade begins at Arabella’s marina around 5 p.m. Boats will circle the harbor a couple of times to give viewers plenty of opportunity to enjoy the lighted boats.
Invitation to the Gig Harbor Lighted Boat Parade
“You make two laps around the harbor with your fellow boaters, and it’s a blast,” said Sasser. “So please sign up now and let us know you are coming.”
You can do that sending an email to GHYCLightedParade@gmail.com and let organizers know your name, boat name and length, power or sail, and home port.
