The federal holiday on Jan. 20, 2020, marks the 25th anniversary of the day of service that celebrates the civil rights leader’s life and legacy.

Today, people across America will remember and honor the the Rev. Martin Luther King, who was the most visible spokesperson and leader of the civil rights movement before being killed by an assassin on April 4, 1968.
