Gig Harbor Dragon Boat Team is Now Taking Flea Market Items
If you’re doing a little spring cleaning of closets and cupboards, keep the Dragons in mind. The Gig Harbor dragon boat team is now accepting gently used household goods for its annual flea market, set for March 13-14. The public is invited to drop off donations at Peninsula Marketplace beginning Wednesday, Feb. 12.
- Wednesdays: Feb. 12, 19 and 26 ~ 11:30-2:30
- Saturdays: Feb. 15 and 22, March 2-7 ~ 11:30-2:30
Bring your items to Peninsula Marketplace, formerly the Peninsula Gardens site, at 5503 Wollochet Dr. NW and help the Gig Harbor Dragons-PenMet Parks Dragon Boat Team have another season of soaring success. The team is looking for nice items for its third annual upscale sale with proceeds going toward training costs and boat storage and maintenance.
As dragon boat team member and event organizer Laurie Dahl Isacson points out, one person’s no-longer-needed items are sure to “spark joy” for someone else.
“It is that time of year to start the Marie Kondo purge and get rid of that extra stuff that no longer provides ‘joy,’” she said in an email announcing the flea market. Because those items will “spark joy” — home organizing guru Kondo’s popular phrase — for shoppers at the flea market.
“The Gig Harbor Dragons would greatly appreciate your used-but-still-in-excellent-condition items for their upscale flea market to benefit
our team,” says the team.
Here is more detail on the type of things they’re looking for:
