The Club @ the Boatyard Hosts a Slate of Fun in October
It’s a busy fall of fun @ the boatyard in October, so be sure to come down to Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard for some fantastic events on the waterfront this autumn.
Start the month off right with two fun festivities this weekend at The Club @ the Boatyard: The Autumn Sip & Stroll on Saturday and the Seattle Seahawks Beast Bus on Sunday. Watch for more details coming up soon on the Silk & Wool Workshop set for Oct. 21 and 28, and some howling Halloween fun with a Club Members’ event and Trick-or-Treating in the Harbor.
These events are in addition to our ongoing Club and Academy @ the Boatyard rentals, of course, which keep Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard the place to be on the harbor. But first:
Drop by The Club @ the Boatyard for Autumn Sip & Stroll
The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance is proud to announce its first Autumn Sip & Stroll, taking place this Saturday, Oct. 7, and The Club @ the Boatyard is all set to be one of the event’s exciting “Stroll Stops.”
Obelisco Estate Wines (obelisco.com) will be serving sips at The Club @ Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard to complement tasty bites that Boatyard Hospitality Manager Danielle Taylor is pairing for the event, which runs from 1 to 5 p.m.
This popular tasting event, coinciding with October’s “First Saturday Art Walk,” takes patrons on a tour along Gig Harbor’s beautiful waterfront as they sample Northwest wines, brews, spirits and tasty small bites at businesses serving as “Stroll Stops.” Most art galleries and several other downtown businesses make up about 15 Stroll Stops for the afternoon event, and the Alliance will provide complimentary shuttle transportation throughout the waterfront district to make it easy to visit them.
Stroll down to The Club @ the Boatyard for your sips of Obelisco wine and enjoy tasty samples of seasonal soups offered by Club Manager Danielle and crew. They will be serving a delicious savory tomato bisque soup, which will be featured on the food trolley’s new fall menu coming soon, and a rich fall butternut squash soup.
Sip & Stroll participants will receive a tasting glass, 15 sip tickets and a map to guide their stroll through the Downtown Waterfront. Tickets are still available for the Autumn Sip & Stroll for $35 at bit.ly/autumnsipandstroll.
On the day of the event, the registration area and a wine store with bottled wine featured at the Stroll Stops will be located at 3104 Judson Street, next to 7 Seas Brewing. Parking is available at the Methodist Church on Pioneer Street and throughout the downtown waterfront area. The wine store will remain open until 6 p.m. after the event so Sip & Strollers can stock up on tasting favorites for the upcoming holidays.
Sponsored by US Bank, the Autumn Sip & Stroll is presented by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor. For more information, contact the Alliance office at 253-514-0071 or visit Gig Harbor Wine & Food Festival on Facebook.

Watch the Seahawks with the Beast Bus @ The Club
Come to the Club @ the Boatyard this Sunday, Oct. 8, for another sampling of our fall of fun @ the boatyard: the Third Annual Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Beast Bus Party. Watch the Seahawks take on the Los Angeles Rams on several large flat screen TVs throughout The Club and on the exciting Beast Bus.
Game time is 1:05 p.m. — but you will want to show up early when all the food and festivities begin.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. — when the Rotary Club’s own Walker Sandlin will begin providing excellent edible treats that will continue throughout the game, beginning with two tantalizing flavors of breakfast burritos, breakfast sausage or chorizo sausage, along with great condiments.
Later you can feast — on bratwurst and hot Italian sausage with the usual fantastic condiments and two sides: bacon and gorgonzola cheese potato salad and garlicky coleslaw for something unique and different.
Table munchie food — mostly nuts, candied pretzels and crackers, will be available throughout the event and, of course, two kinds of Walker’s special brownies for dessert.
Then there is the bar — there will be wine, spirits, beer, sparkling mimosas and plenty of Club Manager Danielle’s special Bloody Mary’s, the hit of last year’s Beast Bus party.
So, you won’t want to miss this great time. Tickets are the same as in the past at $75 per person with the proceeds supporting ongoing projects of the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor.
