Harbor Taproom

Gig Harbor Brewing’s Harbor Taproom at 3155 Harborview Drive, offers a ringside seat in the heart of Waterfront Block Party action.

Come down to the Harbor Taproom, 3155 Harborview Drive, at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard this Saturday and sip some fantastic beer tastings while enjoying live music by Dave Hannon and Kristen Marlo. It’s all part the Waterfront Block Party, just one feature of the Wine & Food Experience weekend presented by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance.

Rooster racesBe sure to be on hand at 4 p.m. and see what all the crowing is about with the Taproom’s inaugural “Rooster Races” in Skansie Brothers Park.

Read more about it here in our July 13 blog, but in…uh, an eggshell, the event is a new twist on an old tradition in Gig Harbor: live Rooster Races, which were a fixture in the Finholm district in the 1930’s and 40’s.

In this modern-day — and somewhat cockeyed — rendition of this fowl competition, racers (human) will hop across the park to the finish line on bouncy, inflated roosters (rubber). And that’s no cock-and-bull story.

After the races, stop for a bite of delicious food at The Trolley @ the Boatyard. The Trolley’s chicken specials (what else?) will be perfect pairing with Taproom brews, including their Racing Rooster Red.
