2018 Paddlers Cup Coming to the Harbor April 21-22
Skansie Brothers Park on the Gig Harbor Waterfront
A premiere paddle event for Pacific Northwest canoe, kayak, stand-up paddle board and outrigger athletes and enthusiasts of all age levels.
The 7th Annual Paddlers Cup Regatta will take place April 21 and 22 at historic Skansie Brothers Park in downtown Gig Harbor.
Organized by the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team in cooperation with the Tacoma South Sound Sports Commission and the City of Gig Harbor, this annual community event features paddle racing for kayaks, canoes, SUPs, outriggers and para-canoes, and the ever-more-popular dragon boat races.
Dragon Boat Racing Has Caught Fire
Come cheer on Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard’s own winning dragon boat team from Joint Base Lewis McChord. Our boatyard-sponsored team from the 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade out of JBLM is vying for its third straight Paddlers Cup dragon boat championship. This heated competition is sure to see plenty of teams breathing fire down our paddlers’ necks in this rapidly-growing boating activity.
