The 6th Annual Paddlers Cup Regatta is set to make its splash this weekend, April 8-9, and Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is proud to be a co-sponsor of this popular event in the harbor.
The annual Paddlers Cup will take to the harbor this year from historic Eddon Boat Park in downtown Gig Harbor while its usual staging site, Skansie Brothers Park, undergoes a major renovation.
The Paddlers Cup is organized by the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team in cooperation with the Tacoma South Sound Sports Commission and the City of Gig Harbor. This annual community event features paddle racing for kayaks, canoes, SUPs, outriggers and para-canoes, as well as the always-popular dragon boat races.
Paddlers Cup Weekend Features 3 Signature Events:
- Saturday, April 8 ~ The Cross Narrows Challenge & Inner Harbor Races
- Sunday, April 9 ~ Dragon Boat Races
The Paddlers Cup is the premiere event for Pacific Northwest canoe, kayak, paddle board and outrigger athletes and enthusiasts of all ages and levels.
The two-day event features competitive racing for expert, novice and youth paddlers. Vendors will be located on the shore at Eddon Boat Park, 3805 Harborview Dr., and will include booths from the industry’s top manufacturers, clubs, retailers, non-profit organizations and racing enthusiasts.
