JW @ The Boatyard Opening at Gig Harbor Marina

At last, JW @ The Boatyard is opening this Friday, April 1st — no fooling! The long-awaited food trolley operated by JW Restaurant at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is finally set for its grand opening, just in time for the Paddlers Cup in the harbor this weekend.
Just follow the tantalizing aromas along the downtown waterfront to the red food trolley at the entrance to Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard. You’ll find many delicious Northwest favorites offered by the chef of popular JW Restaurant. Stop by for food to-go or stay and enjoy it at the umbrella-covered picnic tables in front of the trolley.

JW @ The Boatyard had a soft opening menu-tasting with friends and family to rave reviews last night. JW General Manager Jamie Lindsey was thrilled that the trolley was finally getting its debut after months of waiting to complete the permitting process.
“We are just very excited that this day is finally here,” she said as she bustled around getting things ready before guests arrived for the soft opening. “After all the waiting, suddenly this week everything was finalized. We are so happy to be in this location.”

A couple dozen invited guests soon arrived to sample the delicious cuisine served through the trolley windows at JW @ The Boatyard. Lindsey circulated among them to offer choices for the menu tasting. From a red plastic cup diners chose a slip of paper listing the menu item they would get to try. There was also space to jot down comments for feedback on food quality, quantity and what they would be comfortable paying for that menu item.

Satisfied comments were the order of the evening as people tucked into their selections at the picnic tables. “What did you get?” “I got Harbor Cod Tacos.” “This is delicious!” “Mine’s the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich. ” “Really good!”

You’ll get to see for yourself beginning this Friday, April 1, and on through a popular weekend to be downtown along the waterfront. The Canoe & Kayak team is renting The Club @ The Boatyard, next to JW @ The Boatyard, so come down and be part of the action. Stop by the red food trolley and enjoy a delicious lunch while you watch the paddle races.
