Make Plans to SUP in the Harbor

Stand Up for Peninsula Schools announces the second annual “SUP in the Harbor” set for Sept. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Skansie Brothers Park in Gig Harbor. Put it in your calendar and plan to come downtown for the fun.
SUP in the Harbor is a community celebration and rally for support of area schools. The celebration will feature stand-up paddle board (SUP) relay races and a parade in the harbor, plus many onshore family activities including music for all ages, food and more, so paddle boarding is not required for participation in this event.
Support Schools by ‘Standing Up’ in the Harbor — it’s Fun!
Nor do you need to have your own paddle board if you want to get out on the water. Lee’s SUP in Gig Harbor will again be providing more than 75 boards for anyone who wants to try it out.
This afternoon of fun on the harbor is for anyone wanting to “rally for our schools,” according to the Stand Up For Schools Facebook page. Check it out for more information and come help break last year’s record of 103 paddle boarders “standing up” on the harbor.
Paddle boarding is for all ages and skill levels — and lessons will be available.
Register for the paddle boarding event today at Stand Up 4 Peninsula Schools.
While you’re on the Gig Harbor waterfront, be sure to grab a bite to eat at the Trolley @ the Boatyard. Eat at our tables or take your delicious food back to the park. It doesn’t get easier than that!
