Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard has a new marketing manager and she is eager to be part of what puts the marina “at the heart of it all” in downtown Gig Harbor. Marketing manager Amy Faeth came on board last week and joins a dynamic management team making exciting changes at the marina and boatyard.

Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is becoming a destination marina along the historic Gig Harbor waterfront with lots to offer in hospitality and amenities – all toward the goal of drawing people and their boats to Gig Harbor, says marina general manager Ron Roark.  He introduced himself to Faeth and her husband, Craig, at the Tides Tavern almost a year ago and learned about her marketing experience.

“I told him I would come down and talk with him about his plans for the boatyard,” Amy said. “When he shared his vision, what he’s building and how it benefits Gig Harbor, I knew I had to be a part of it.”

The Faeths have lived in Gig Harbor for 11 years and came here to be a little closer to family and “to live in a close-knit community where we could raise a family,” she said. Daughter Aria is now 11 years old and their son, Quinn, is nine. Faeth and her husband of almost 20 years came to the Maritime City by way of South Dakota, where both attended graduate school.

“I’ve wanted to work with Ron for some time now – every time we met I’d ask him, ‘When am I going to come to work for you, Ron?’ ”

Faeth comes to Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard with over 20 years of marketing experience and a boatload of ideas and enthusiasm about her new role as marketing manager for the marina.

“We need to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to promote the marina and boatyard and drive revenue to the harbor,” explained Faeth, who says her happiest memories are of being on the family boat while growing up in Southern California. “We want people to come to Gig Harbor, shop at our small businesses and eat at our restaurants.”
