Nativity Sets the Scene for Holidays on the Harbor

‘Tis the season for Christmas on the waterfront and Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard has been busy decking its halls.

The Nativity scene provided by an ad hoc Christmas committee of local ministers and business leaders last year is again in place at the entrance to the boatyard, and our yard crew has hung the big lighted wreath on the boat shed in the background.

Mike O’Neal, boatyard technician and electrician, left, sets up lighting on the Nativity scene and fence rail. Chance Busey, assistant marketing director at the boatyard, measures for additional garlands.

The crew worked with Burning Heart Ministries, which owns the Nativity scene, and had creative assistance by the Horsehead Bay Garden Club. Sandy Ruffo and Kaye Bickford of the garden club were on hand to design the manger display’s lighting, greenery, star and spotlight position.

For the second year, the Nativity scene owned by Burning Heart Ministries graces the entrance to Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard.
