Seattle Boat Show Opens This Friday

The Seattle Boat Show, featuring more than 1,000 recreational watercraft and an exciting slate of activities for the whole family, gets under way this Friday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. Don’t miss the West Coast’s largest boat exhibition, the “Seattle Boat Show, Indoors + Afloat,” running through Feb. 6 at CenturyLink Field, plus afloat on South Lake Union.

This weekend kicks off the nine-day show with a splash with the Uncorked wine event on opening night, Jan. 29, and the Chowder Chomp Cook-Off this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30 and 31.

‘Wine Down’ with Relaxing Uncorked Event on Opening Night 

Chardonnay and a Cobalt. Sauvignon Blanc and a SeaRay. Merlot and a Malibu. What do these unusual pairings have in common? They will all be available at Uncorked, Seattle Boat Show’s opening night event at CenturyLink Field Event Center on Friday, Jan.  29, from 5 to 9 p.m. Show-goers can sniff, swirl and sip their way through the boat show, tasting a variety of award-winning Washington wines while soaking in the show and shopping for the boat of their dreams or wandering the three acres of accessory exhibits.

Tasting stations will be set up throughout the indoor location at CenturyLink Field, offering wines from different Washington wineries. Varietals from the following wineries will be available for tasting at the event (while supplies last): Waterbrook, Canoe Ridge Vineyard, Cavatappi, Browne Family, Gruet, Ross Andrew, Sagelands Vineyard and Topsail.

Chowder Chomp Charity Cook-Off this Weekend

Dates: Saturday, Jan. 30 & Sunday, Jan. 31
Time: 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Location: South Lake Union location

Seattle’s elite seafood restaurants will be coming together Jan. 30 and 31 to battle it out for the title of “Best Boat Show Chowder!” Be a judge at this delicious and FREE event, the Chowder Chomp – you’ll sample a variety of the Emerald City’s most well-known chowders and vote on which one you think deserves the crown. To sweeten the pot, the winning restaurant will have a charitable donation made in their name to local non-profit Salmon for Soldiers. Make sure to bring your appetite to the Seattle Boat Show’s Charity Chowder Cook Off.
