Trolley Prepping for Busy Summer Season

Trolley @ the Boatyard Enjoyed Big Restaurant Week, Now Readies for Summer

After a successful downtown Restaurant Week, the Trolley @ the Boatyard is now setting its sights on the busy summer season coming up on the Gig Harbor waterfront.

The Trolley had a full plate serving up its delicious Crab & Shrimp Rolls and savory Corn Chowder during the harbor’s first Waterfront Restaurant Week at the end of March. The Morales’ fantastic fare was so popular toward the end of the the week that they kept the special going into the weekend.

Restaurant Week

The Trolley’s Crab & Shrimp Rolls were served with Corn Chowder during the harbor’s first Waterfront Restaurant Week organized by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance, March 25-29.

“We got the most people on the last day of Restaurant Week,” said Camber Morales who, along with husband Omar, operates the popular red food truck at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard. “We did a delivery to a business with our special that week and they have already put in their order for this week. They were so impressed by a delivery of this hot, amazing food.”

You can’t help but be impressed by Camber and Omar’s delicious food cooked up at The Trolley @ the Boatyard, which means a busy time ahead with the upcoming summer season. The day I was waiting for my mouth-watering Pirate Burger, steaming with grilled caramelized onions, bacon and Swiss cheese — and definitely a side of hot, crispy-battered fries, please — Camber was interviewing applicants for summer help at The Trolley.

The Trolley team is looking to hire about 10 people for two shifts a day during the busy summer season, which kicks off May 1. They are especially in need of line and prep cooks, Camber says. Interested applicants can stop by Trolley @ the Boatyard or The Club office upstairs at the boatyard.

Meanwhile, team Morales is busy cooking up new taste sensations for summer visitors to the Gig Harbor waterfront.
