The Trolley @ the Boatyard is announcing new, extended hours for the New Year. The red food trolley operated by Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is now open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Pancos, or pancake tacos, are a Trolley favorite: scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon, hash browns, a spoonful of rich, brown gravy and a sprinkling of chives served in a delicate, pancake tortilla.

That’s the same amazing food masterfully created by Chef Omar Morales and his talented sous chef wife, Camber, starting a bit later in the morning and going ’til a bit later into the afternoon.  All of Omar and Camber’s mouth-watering breakfast items will still be offered all day, with food deliveries continuing between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the downtown area.

The Trolley @ the Boatyard is well into its first winter season of operation by Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard staff since it opened the summer of 2015. With the start of a brand new year, Chef Omar and boatyard Hospitality Manager Danielle Taylor were inspired to cook up some exciting menu changes to go along with the extended trolley hours.

“It’s new year, new hours and new items,” said Danielle. “But we’re keeping the harbor favorites and adding some new things, such as Blue Plate Specials featuring half sandwiches, soups and salads, wraps and other non-fried options.”

The Trolley @ the Boatyard is Open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The dedicated foodies are also working on a menu of boxed lunches for easy pick-up or delivery. These delicious and convenient box lunches will include such tasty offerings as a sandwich, pasta salad, cookie and a beverage.

“It’s just a great boxed lunch that will appeal to people working at local businesses,” said Danielle. She added that trolley delivery has been very popular with harbor-area businesses, with frequent orders from Franciscan Medical Clinic, Wilco and Best Western, to name a few.

And with summer boating season in view (it is in view, right?) Danielle has more exciting plans in the works: picnic baskets that boaters, concert-in-the-park-goers and people strolling through downtown can order to take on the go.

Chip & chips are a Trolley staple: a succulent, beer-battered cod filet served with coleslaw and the best fries you’ve ever tasted. The Trolley is now open ’til 5 p.m. with its new hours.

“There are big summer opportunities with boaters, delivering to other marinas, or maybe boaters can even come pick up their orders near our Travelift pier and we take it right down to them at the dock,” said Danielle and boatyard Managing Director Ron Roark brainstorming together.

“There’s so much we can do and I’m excited about it,” said Danielle.

The Trolley @ the Boatyard is open Tuesday through Saturday with new hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with delivery service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The delivery service area extends for approximately 2.5 miles in the downtown area from the Maritime Pier to the Harbor History Museum, up to Highway 16.

Stop by soon for some of the best food in the harbor. Enjoy your meal out of the weather in The Club @ the Boatyard.
