Water Sports Store Coming to Marina

New store

Gig Harbor Water Sports is the next new store opening soon at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard.

Today is the grand opening of Dolly Mama Too, a boutique of beautiful “coastal chic” decor and accessories, at the entrance to the marina. It’s opening in the building formerly occupied by Emilie Gallery & Boutique. Gig Harbor Water Sports will open next month in the soon-to-be vacant Queen’s Cabinet space at the boatyard.

The new Gig Harbor Water Sports store will be an off-shoot of the Gig Harbor Fly Shop on Harborview Drive. It will focus on water sport equipment, clothing and accessories — “all things for having fun on the water in Gig Harbor,” said Fly Shop associate and instructor/guide Justin Waters.

Gig Harbor Water Sports is the Next New Store Opening at the Marina

Fly Shop owner Blake Merwin hopes to get the keys to his second store on Oct. 1 and start setting up Gig Harbor Water Sports right away.

“We’ll be moving all the water sporting goods over there,” said Jacob Hirst, shop associate and instructor/guide.

Gig Harbor Water sports will offer kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddle boards, wet suits and other clothing and accessories for recreation on the water.

The new store will complete the change-over this fall to both retail spaces at Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard’s. Both long-time marina tenants Emilie Meldahl, owner of Emilie Boutique & Gallery, and Gay Peraza, owner of the Queen’s Cabinet boutique, have decided to retire after more than a decade each of running businesses along the Gig Harbor waterfront.
