There is always something going on in the harbor and this weekend it’s the annual Gig Harbor Wine & Food Festival, July 23-25. The festival, sponsored by the Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and the Gig Harbor Rotary Club, is a tasty summer event celebrating the region’s wine, spirits, brews and food.
Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard is the perfect starting place for something new to the festival line-up this year, the first annual “Sip and Stroll,” set for 5 to 8 p.m. on July 23. Enjoy an evening strolling throughout the historic downtown waterfront district and savoring sips and gourmet food samples at participating locations. Many businesses will stay open late so you can shop while you stroll. Visit Gig Harbor Waterfront to learn more about Sip & Stroll.
On July 24, three superb Gig Harbor restaurants will host Winemaker Dinners. Choose from JW Restaurant, Netshed No. 9 and Morso to be wined and dined with delicious gourmet food courses and exquisite wine pairings. Read more about this event on the festival website. Contact restaurants directly for reservations and tickets. From the marina, it’s easy to “Get around Gig Harbor” with the PT Trolley, so check it out for getting to Wine Festival events.
The Grand Tasting Event is set for July 25 from 12 to 4:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Harbor History Museum. Enjoy the offerings of over 50 food, wine, spirit and brew vendors, take in educational sessions, and watch celebrity chef demonstrations and a celebrity chef cook-off. You’ll be able to purchase your favorite wines at the on-site wine store.
