A Message From The President
Warren Zimmerman, President of the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce, writes about the recent Annual Awards Dinner in the Dec. 6 Snapshot, the Chamber’s newsletter. He honors the community’s 2016 award winners, who include Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard, Gig Harbor’s Business of the Year.
“Our City is Full of Treasures”
What a busy weekend for the Chamber. We hosted more than 140 people this past Saturday evening at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Gala. It was an elegant evening at Canterwood Golf and Country Club as we honored the hard work and dedication of six outstanding community members:
- Business of the Year – Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard
- Citizen of the Year – Larry Geringer
- Ambassador of the Year – Theresa King
- Membership Person of the Year – Theresa Arvila
- Non-Profit of the Year – KGHP FM Radio
- Chairman’s Choice Award – Mitch Andersen
We also collected toys at the gala for Santa’s Castle, a long-term partner from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, who distributes toys to military personnel who need a helping hand during the holidays. Nine members of the 201st Brigade were Chamber guests this year and they helped gather the toys to deliver to JBLM.
Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event, especially those who were unable to attend and still donated toys. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.
Don’t forget! Only 18 shopping days until Christmas. If you haven’t finished your shopping, please remember our local business — they are anxious to help you find just the right gift. Many special treasures await!
